Horizon Project Update
|
Horizon project take off was Wednesday 4 February, and is on course for completion on 28 February.
By now you should have received and accepted a meeting request to attend training. If not, please contact your Horizon Project Champion.
Prior to attending training and your computer being refreshed you must have moved all data files saved on your local hard drive C: to C:Documents and SettingsyourloginnameMy Documents. Do not move files from drive C: to the network drives.
On the morning your computer is scheduled to be refreshed, you will receive an email with instructions of what you need to do.
For your information, the process for refreshing your computer from Novell to the Microsoft Operating Environment is:
1. Attend a Horizon Project training session
2. On the day your computer is scheduled for refresh, before you leave the office and prior to 5:00pm run the ‘Prepare PC for Refresh’ icon in the NAL.
(This icon will only be available on the day your computer is due to be refreshed).
3. Read and sign the ‘Horizon PC Staff Refresh Authorisation’ sheet (which is automatically printed when you run ‘Prepare PC for Refresh’) and leave on your computer keyboard.
4. Your computer will shut down and you won’t be able to use it again that day.
5. The day after your computer has been refreshed, a ‘Welcome to the new BDO desktop’ letter will be on your keyboard. You will need to login with password hellobdo.
6. Members of the Horizon project team will be walking your floor the morning after refresh to see if you have any issues. You can also contact your Champion about any issues, who will collate and contact IT.
